Webinar Agenda: Reclaiming You

A Guide for Caregivers of Elderly Parents

Join us for a transformative session designed to help you navigate the “Sandwich Generation” with grace, structure, and purpose. Our three keynote speakers will provide the emotional, tactical, and professional tools you need to reclaim your identity while honoring your role as a caregiver.

SESSION 1

Rediscovering Your Relationship With Your Parents

Speaker: Christine Deane

As roles reverse, the relationship between child and parent must evolve. Christine explores how to transition from a place of exhaustion to a relationship rooted in intentionality.

“Being a caregiver is NOT who you are; it is a season of service. By reclaiming your identity, you gain the strength to love and respect your parents more deeply.”

  • The Shift from Child to Caregiver: Validating the “drowning” sensation of the sandwich generation and setting a goal for a healthy “new season.”
  • Love as Presence, Not Performance: Moving beyond medical tasks to reconnect through “lifegiving” choices and active listening—asking the deep questions that reveal who your parents truly are.
  • Preserving Dignity: Redefining respect by creating shared “Goals and Action Plans” and developing “Exit Strategies” for difficult transitions like housing or driving before a crisis occurs.

SESSION 3

Navigating Identity & Career in the Sandwich Generation

Speaker: Denise Payne, M.S.

Maintaining professional momentum while caregiving is a tactical challenge. This session provides a roadmap for your career and your sense of self.

“The goal is simple: To ensure that when this season of caregiving ends, you don’t have to spend years ‘finding yourself’—because you never let yourself go.”

  • The Vitality Audit: A deep dive into discovery questions to uncover buried passions, such as:
    • What made you happy at age 8?
    • What are your current “daydreams and nightdreams”?
    • What have you always been naturally good at throughout your lifetime?
    • Moving from “Stuck” to “Starting”: Concrete steps for your professional future, including creating an exit strategy with a timeline, skill-building through classes, and launching a side hustle business plan today.
    • The Identity Shift: Deconstructing the “caregiver” label to ensure you aren’t neglecting the activities that make you feel alive.
